The Technology & Innovation Ministry uses a one-government approach to IMT governance, decision-making and service delivery across the Government of Alberta (GoA) balanced with individual client needs. The Business and Technology (BTO) branch creates, maintains, delivers and continually improves IT services consumed by clients. BTO delivers varied IT services related to audit, development, infrastructure, integration, maintenance, operations, platforms, project delivery, quality, service design, service desk, telecommunications and more.

**Role Responsibilities**:
The Application Services branch is looking for an Application Analyst. This position will report to the Team Lead of Applications Services.

The systems supported are both foundational and critical systems supporting program delivery within the ministries.

**Responsibilities**:
Your responsibilities will include:

- Gather and document information for the Security Threat and Risk Assessment and Statement of Acknowledged Risk.**To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate**:

- Practitioner's understanding of software architecture, change and information management processes.
- Experience collaborating with other technical teams.
- A track record of customer service.
- An ability to build strong relationship.
- Experience working with internal stakeholders, including stakeholders external to government

**Qualifications**:
**Requirements**:

- University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- 2 years of related experience in:

- Software development and maintenance of the custom as well as the COTS solutions experience - either as the Systems Analyst or Application Analyst.
- Operational support, coordination and change management experience of the service delivery.

**Equivalencies**: Equivalencies will be considered:

- A related two-year diploma in computer technology or a related discipline from a recognized postsecondary institution and 4 years related experience; or
- A related one-year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and 5 years related experience.

**Assets**:

- Expertise in server setup, configuration, and patching of COTS products.
- Experience in developing and debugging code in C#, Java, MS SQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Experience with Windows Server including security configuration, security configuration, IIS configuration, WebSphere configuration and IBM Cognos configuration.
- Experience with Collaboration Services: SharePoint and Content Services; OpenText, IBM Content Manager and other related services.
- Solid understanding of database principles, practice, design, configuration.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills - ability to present complex information in a clear and concise format.
