**Responsibilities**

The National Institutional Giving Advisor will oversee CPAWS’ Corporate and Foundation fundraising program, by maintaining current partnerships and seeking new funding opportunities.
- **Fund Development/Prospecting (75%)**_
- Develop and execute a long-term fundraising plan with precise targets and prospect strategies in collaboration with the National Manager of Philanthropy.
- Identify and prioritize potential corporate and foundation donors aligned with CPAWS’ values.
- Conduct new prospect research in order to identify new or expanded funding sources and engage new corporate and foundation donors through outreach and relationship building, under the guidance of the National Manager of Philanthropy.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for corporate and foundation inquiries, keeping constituents informed about CPAWS’ activities and mission.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing partners through effective donor relations programs.
- **Reporting (15%)**_
- Provide regular reports to National Executive Director and Senior Management on fundraising progress, donor engagement and financial contributions.
- Compile program reports to highlight progress to CPAWS funders. The frequency of these reports will be determined by the respective funder. This involves gathering information from program leads and chapter teams, and subsequently presenting or submitting comprehensive reports to the funder.
- Organize and coordinate materials for meetings with prospective funders and existing funders for the National Director of Conservation and the National Executive Director.
- **Team Support & Administration (10%)**_
- Collaborate with the Communications team to develop promotional materials and communication strategies.
- Work closely with the Grants Coordinator to manage grant funding contracts.
- Analyze fundraising data with the Manager of Philanthropy to identify trends, opportunities and areas for growth.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing corporate and foundation fundraising activities.
- Assist in developing and executing the National Philanthropy team's annual work plan.
- Engage in cross-training initiatives within the philanthropy team and provide backup support for team members as needed.
- Participate in team efforts aimed at enhancing processes and procedures.

**Accountability and Authority**

The National Institutional Giving Advisor will work from the CPAWS National Office in Ottawa, and report to the National Philanthropy Manager. They will work closely with the Communications Team, Conservation Team, Operations Team and CPAWS chapters.

All staff are accountable through the staff structure to the National Executive Director for the planning and delivery of programs and services for which they are responsible. The National Executive Director is responsible for staff management and development, and the effectiveness of programs and services within the priorities and budgets approved by the Board.

The Human Resources Policy guides the National Executive Director in the day-to-day management of the organization. All CPAWS staff will ensure they have read, understand and adhere to the policy manual.
- **Qualifications & Expectations**_

**Essential Assets**
- Minimum of three to five years of experience, or relevant studies in fundraising, demonstrating track record of success cultivating and securing corporate and foundation partnerships.
- Strong understanding of corporate and foundation philanthropy trends and practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Strong technical skills in MS Office 365 (Excel, Word, and Teams) and familiarity with CRM systems and fundraising software.
- Exceptionally organized with excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Solid time-management and multi-tasking abilities.
- An Inclusive, collegial, and collaborative work ethic with strong teamwork skills.
- Ability and willingness to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

**Nice to Have**
- Experience working or volunteering in the non-profit/ charitable sector.
- Experience in project and fund accounting and reporting.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Fundraising/Philanthropy, or a related field.
