Vancouver, Canada HTEC Hydrogen Technology & Energy Corp Full time

HTEC’s Clean Fuels Business Unit is expanding, and we are looking for an experienced Senior Construction Manager to join our team. This position is based in our Vancouver office, with opportunities for some remote work and necessary travel, primarily within BC.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee and manage construction contractors (EPC, GC), ensuring compliance with project specifications, timelines and cost.
- Implement the construction quality program for Clean Fuels. Coordinate field inspections and hold points, ensuring that inspections adhere to regulatory standards. Ultimately ensure that projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes and that high quality standards are maintained.
- Lead project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and support project progression. Track the progress of site work, identifying any issues or delays, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Monitor project financials and KPIs during the construction phase of projects, providing frequent updates to PMs, senior management and key stakeholders.
- Evaluate changes orders, impact related to changes in the project during the construction phase.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all construction-related queries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide acceptance of Mechanical Completion certificates while managing identification and closeout of punch-list items to ensure a smooth transition of the project from Construction to Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning, with eventual handover to Operations.
- Develop and review construction execution schedules and estimates. Provide assurance on the construction function of TIC estimates and schedules provided by contractors in preliminary and detailed engineering and execution.
- Assist in the engineering design process by providing insightful constructability feedback and independent review of third-party civil / structural work..
- Participate in the risk management processes to identify, assess, and mitigate potential construction risks.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of construction processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a construction management role, preferably in the industrial gas, energy, or commodities sectors.
- Degree/Diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Experience with construction cost estimating.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects ($20 million+) from project initiation to completion.
- Experience working with permitting agencies, local municipalities and field inspectors in BC is an asset.
- Proficient with MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Project, AutoCAD)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Must have valid work authorization in Canada.

Pay: $100,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
