**Summary**

The primary purpose of this position is to provide support to managers and team members at the Newmarket location. The incumbent will be the primary recruiter for Newmarket and assist in recruitment for various locations, while ensuring our company values and culture are at the forefront. The primary responsibility for this position is to support ongoing HR initiatives, employee development, retention and talent management including full cycle recruitment and onboarding.

**Job Duties**
- Full cycle recruitment
- Assist in recruitment for other locations when required
- Participate in and support various aspects of HR functions including the selection process, employee engagement, training and orientation, performance management, employee relations.
- Create a positive onboarding experience for all new employees and ensure all new hire paperwork is completed and submitted to payroll on time.
- Participate in investigations and provide recommendations for resolution as needed to address employee relations issues
- Develop and deliver educational materials for orientation & onboarding new hires
- Support employees on the use of software tools such as Vista and Confluence
- Conduct employee exit interviews
- Participate in and support HR related projects
- Maintain knowledge of relevant employment laws and related regulations.
- Distribute employee communications by posting/distributing memos, job postings, policies and procedures, employment standards and employee related information on Confluence
- Prepare manuals; new hire orientation files; reports and update information on HRIS
- Be first point of contact for inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs related to benefits
- Coordinate with payroll any arears for benefit premiums for employee absences/leaves
- Maintain electronic records retention of files and destruction according to privacy requirements.
- Back up for employee time entry
- Maintain employee files for Norseman
- Organize and assist with organizing local functions (BBQ, Cake Day, Christmas Luncheon)
- Other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- 3+ years’ of progressively responsible experience HR and processing full-cycle recruitment
- Degree with major in HR is required
- CPHR or working towards is required
- High degree of confidentiality
- Understanding of Employment Standards
- Previous experience with compensation would be an asset
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office required
- Exposure to various HRIS systems is required
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines

**Work Conditions**
- **Office setting,** Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm; occasional overtime may be required
- Work in a highly sensitive, deadline driven, confidential and dynamic work environment
