Sales Support Officer

The Sales Support officer is responsible for supporting the sales and marketing efforts to the larger more complex relationships of the designated Cash Management/Trade Finance/Commercial Growth Specialists, by providing an in-depth analysis of customer needs with the purpose of recommending products and services appropriate for each client. The Officer will identify opportunities with both new and existing clients.
**Is this role right for you? In this role, you will**:
- Support the Sales activities of the Cash Management Team by:
- Completing a detailed analysis of applicable clients by reviewing account activity, signing arrangements, industry type, related companies, average deposit balances and historical sundry activity.
- Make recommendations based on analysis for products and services which meet the needs of the clients and the bank.
- Developing and maintaining a strong knowledge and understanding of Cash Management and Trade Finance products, services and pricing.
- Assist in building templates and tools to simplify work and increase productivity.
- Utilize reporting to identify and recommend cross sell/ upsell opportunities for existing clients to cash Management sales officers
- Provide a high level of customer service to Branch Partners and Small Business Customer by:
- Consistently deliver the desired customer experience during all customer and branch interactions
- Handling inquiries from Branch Partners and Clients and, if applicable, referring them to the appropriate cash Management sales officer.
- Assisting with the maintenance of Cash Management, Commercial Growth and Trade Finance products and services, including maintaining accurate B/F records, filing and providing documentation and recommendations in an efficient and timely manner.
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of documentation for Cash Management products
- Contribute to the overall financial and non-financial objectives by:
- Developing an understanding of the Cash Management Contact centre’s financial and non
- financial goals and how to contribute to them
- Participating in team meetings, skill building sessions and one-on-one coaching sessions
- Adhering strictly to Bank security procedures and assigned authorities and responsibilities, and reporting any unusual occurrences or fraudulent activity to your supervisor as soon as you become aware of it
- Manage and minimize the Bank’s exposure to risk by:
- Adhering to and ensuring team members’ compliance with regulatory activities and guidelines including Privacy, Anti Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist financing, FCAC, Know Your Customer, CDIC, Occupational Health & Safety
- Ensuring strict adherence to Bank security procedures, including assigned authorities and limits
- Escalating fraudulent activities, unusual occurrences, issues/deficiencies/trends to Manager and/or applicable CCC Compliance Officer as appropriate
- Where applicable, comply with MFDA rules and regulations, as well as SSI guidelines/processes

- Expert knowledge of the applicable software and technology platforms for Small Business (e.g. Sales Builder, Intralink, Lotus Notes)
- Thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of small business products and services
- Working knowledge of applicable branch procedures, processes and workflows
- Thorough knowledge of small business legal structures, life cycles and owner characteristics
- Working knowledge of business financial statements
- Working knowledge of the marketplace in which the department operates
