Reporting to the Plant Manager, the position is responsible for the maintenance and reliability of the site’s premises, building, equipment, infrastructure, and utilities. The incumbent is also responsible for the maintenance team leadership and development, project management, implementing continuous improvement and industry best practices, optimizing equipment reliability, maintenance budget and project cost control, and building an effective preventive maintenance program.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Leadership of the maintenance team (Supervisor and Technicians), including training and development, scheduling, performance evaluation, and troubleshooting guidance.
- Develop and implement an effective preventive maintenance program, equipment and spare parts criticality assessment, and spare parts inventory program.
- Oversee planning and scheduling of maintenance PMs, work orders, and other related activities.
- Ensure technicians and contractors work in a safe manner that complies with Safety, Environment, Quality, Food Safety, and regulatory policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Develop, monitor, and operate within the maintenance budget while adhering to cost control procedures.
- Collaborate and comply with 3rd party regulators (e.g. City of Brockville, TSSA, ESA, etc.) to ensure safe operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and utilities systems.
- Site lead for projects and non-routine repairs, establishing scope of work and timelines, managing budget, incorporating Safey and Quality requirements, communication, and implementation.
- Site owner of manuals, documentation, and drawings for equipment, building, utilities, and projects.
- Active participant in site leadership meetings, safety programs or initiatives, incident investigations, and the Food Safety team.
- Establish, monitor, and have full ownership of KPIs and metrics for maintenance programs, and active collaboration to support the site KPIs.
- Identify opportunities and make recommendations to continuously improve equipment reliability, efficiencies, and operation.

**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES**
- Proven hands-on expertise in Preventive Maintenance, Equipment Reliability, Project Management, Automation and Controls, budget management.
- Practical knowledge of CMMS, MS Office, and SAP.
- Excellent communication (verbal & written), coaching, and leadership skills in a team-based environment.
- Demonstrated abilities in analytical thinking, problem solving, technical troubleshooting, and critical thinking.
- Food manufacturing experience is a must.
- Practical knowledge of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, or Predictive/Condition Based Maintenance is an asset.

**MINIMUM EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE**
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (diploma or degree)
- Millwright and/or Electrician license (or equivalent) is considered an asset
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience leading a team in a related position in food manufacturing
