**Nature & Scope**:
Reporting directly to the Director, Facilities & Assets, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing proactive and preventative maintenance procedures for buildings, equipment and grounds of the Brockville branch. The incumbent will play an active role as a team member in the facilities department and be responsible for responding to building and equipment issues promptly. The incumbent will be part of a rotating weekend on-call schedule.
**Responsibilities**:
- Perform painting, mechanical and minor plumbing maintenance and repairs such as constructing shelves, installing switches, painting and other finishes, repairing drywall, disassembling and reassembling equipment.
- Ensure external areas such as entranceways, sidewalks and parking lots are clean and accessible by removing leaves, snow and other refuse.
- Perform minor gardening and lawn maintenance tasks such as mowing, weeding and pruning.
- Ensure building and equipment meet all safety, security and fire regulations and policies.
- Make recommendations for major repairs and purchases to General Manager and Director.
- Complete and maintain related records such as preventative maintenance and monthly fire test logs.
- Operate a motor vehicle to pick up and move goods and supplies.
- Other duties, such as pool maintenance and cleaning, as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- Criminal Reference Check (CPIC) including Vulnerable Sector Check completed not more than 120 days prior to interview, with results acceptable to the YMCA of Eastern Ontario
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR level “C”
- Post-secondary degree or diploma preferred
- Demonstrated mechanical skills; building automation an asset
- Experience in pool maintenance considered an asset
- Knowledge & experience with HVAC an asset
