Position Overview:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Exchange Planning and Forecasting, the Exchange Planning Manager is responsible for the direct leadership of their planning team and works in close coordination with their respective Value Stream Senior Managers and the Master Scheduler. This role oversees the day-to-day and longer-term strategic requirements for production planning and the exchange inventory within their value stream. The Exchange Planning Manager is accountable for leadership and support to their team, production planning and inventory performance, and initiatives aimed at improving production planning and managing the exchange inventory.

**Job Description**:

- Responsible for the day-to-day leadership of staff, including recruitment and selection, orientation, coaching and mentoring, performance feedback, and supporting growth and development opportunities
- Provide leadership for the continuous improvement of planning processes and practices
- Lead the planning team to deliver on goals while developing a positive, and engaging, work environment that is performance driven, customer focused, creative, and highly collaborative
- Lead strategic decision making on production planning initiatives aimed at improving plan development, schedule attainment, profitability, WIP turns, and Exchange Return on Invested Capital (ROIC)
- Understand and lead business planning and AOP requirements to align planning strategy to organizational objectives through a robust understanding of capacity constraints, availability needs, throughput times, and OEM’s workforce model
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders throughout Finning and OEM to develop and enhance the Exchange Program throughout the organization
- Develop and continually improve reporting metrics that accurately capture overall performance and trends in respective value stream
- Lead, demonstrate and champion a healthy and safe work environment ensuring that all safety standards, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements are communicated, implemented and followed

Qualifications:

- Undergraduate Degree with a focus in Business, Commerce and/or Operations Management
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in an analytical and/or planning capacity, preferably in a mining or manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 3 years of experience leading a team, or equivalent demonstrated skill set
- SCMP designation is preferred
- CAT product knowledge considered an asset
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of planning in heavy equipment or automotive rebuild environment.
- Practical experience and theoretical knowledge of forecasting, inventory management, and capacity planning is required to optimize production throughput
- Exposure to cost benefit and business analysis
- Experience managing functional/tactical activities and tasks through direct reports, managerial planning and integrating support activities
- Ability to solve situations that may need significant analysis requiring broad interpretation and integration of issues and providing input and recommendations to senior management
- Stakeholder relationship and change management skills
- Excellent analytical problem solving and decision-making skills
- Takes initiative and displays creativity and innovation in achieving results
