**Position**: Building Operator

**Saskana is looking to hire Building Operator for an up coming Turnaround starting May 8th to July 3rd, could potentially run longer.**

**Shift Schedule**: Hours of work are 7:00am - 7:00pm or 7:00pm - 7:00am on 14 days on/off rotation.

**Location: Suncor Base Plant.**

Position Summary: Under mínimal supervision the BO is required to follow daily maintenance tasks and checks as directed by the coordinator.

**Position Qualifications**
- Minimum 5th Class Power Engineer
- Training in WHMIS
- Completion of OSSA CSO/BSO
- Valid, clean drivers license

**Experience Requirements**:

- Minimum of 4 years field experience
- Industrial sites experience is an asset
- SAP experience is an asset
- Basic electrical/HVAC/Plumbing knowledge is an asset

**General Job Responsibilities**:

- Respond to requests for services/maintenance notifications from the occupants of the offices and shops in a courteous and timely manner.
- Perform routine building checks to ensure proper operation of equipment
- Adhere to provincial OH&S, and operate equipment and systems in a safe, efficient manner at all times.
- Attend required toolboxes/safety meetings as scheduled.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required by the coordinator.

**Job Skills Requirements**:

- Must be a self-starter and work well with mínimal supervision.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to keep tools and work area tidy.
- Strong working knowledge of all aspects of building operations and maintenance.
- Strong ability to effectively identify and solve building related problems.
- Strong ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple tasks with mínimal direction.
- Demonstrate flexibility responding to emergencies and rapidly changing needs.
- Strong understanding of OHS regulations and procedures.
- Standard Operator tools required. Tool list will be provided.

**Protective Clothing Required**:
The Technical Building Operator is required to wear all site-specific PPE.

**Physical Demands**:
While performing the duties of this job, the colleague is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk or hear; uses hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. On occasion, the colleague may be required to climb and work in high places, stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. Position may also require work in confined spaces and exposure to different types of outdoor weather conditions. Risk of electrical shock and/or radiation is present.

The colleague must occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

**Work Environment**:
This position is field based as directed by the Coordinator.

**Benefits**:
Travel expense per rotation $500

Hourly Rate $65.00
