Summerhill Market is looking for a **Salad Production Team lead** to join the Produce Production team at our **Commissary** location.

The Team Lead in Salad Production oversees and coordinates daily operations within the salad production department. This role involves leading a team of production staff, ensuring adherence to quality standards, optimizing production processes, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The Team Lead will be instrumental in meeting production goals and delivering high-quality products to meet customer expectations.

**This is a full time position**

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of production workers, including assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
- Provide training and support to new and existing staff to ensure proficiency in production processes and safety procedures.
- Oversee daily salad production operations, including preparation, mixing, and packaging.
- Ensure production schedules are met and that products are manufactured according to quality standards and specifications.
- Monitor and adjust production processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Conduct regular inspections of ingredients and finished products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients, packaging materials, and other supplies; coordinate with procurement to ensure timely replenishment.
- Assist in managing stock rotation and minimizing waste through effective inventory control practices.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in the production line.
- Implement best practices and new procedures to enhance productivity and product quality.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for equipment maintenance and upgrades.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including daily output, quality control checks, and any issues encountered.

- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Quality driven with strong attention to detail.
- Able to meet production targets
- Being an effective and positive communicator - having great listening skills, patience and knowing how how to work in a collaborative team
- Previous grocery or food industry experience along with a Food Safety Handlers Certification is an asset
- Ability to use various equipment to cut, weigh and package deli meat
- Flexible availability to work morning, evening, and weekend shifts as required with the ability to accommodate various shift coverage on short notice
- Maintaining Health and Safety Standards as defined under the Health and Safety Act
- Comfortable working in a cooler environment in coolers/freezers
- Physically fit; comfortable standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50lbs
- Good manual dexterity; good knife handling and equipment operating skills
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
