**Position Summary**:
In this role, the Accounts Payable Clern will be responsible for completing payments and controlling expenses by receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices. This role will be a key contributor for making sure finances and supplier payments are accurate and up to date.

**As a health and wellness organization, the First Nations Health Authority has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.**

**Responsibilities**:
**A few key responsibilities include**:

- Sorts and prioritizes invoices received on a daily basis
- Verifies transactions against current financial policies and procedures and ensure appropriate authorizations are obtained for payment processing as set out by signing authority guidelines
- Verifies accuracy of invoices and cheque requests including appropriateness of taxes; determines level of rebates for each item
- Ensures purchase order related invoices are matched to purchase orders in the system and other related documents, following up with source departments and/or vendors to gather missing documentation
- Checks accuracy of employee reimbursement expenses in accordance to the travel policy before processing

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of Grade 12 and completion of an Accounting Diploma, plus 2-4 years of related work experience (preferably in a non-profit environment), or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

**Knowledge, Skills & Attributes**:

- Knowledge of accounting as it relates to AP
- Understanding of database management
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software at an intermediate/advanced level
