Mustang Freightways Ltd. is looking for a highly motivated Terminal Manager to join our Calgary team. As the Terminal Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations and overall management of the Calgary terminal. You will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and effective movement of freight while maintaining exceptional customer service, meeting operational goals, and promoting a positive working environment and culture. This position will report directly to the General Manager.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the terminal, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for appropriate staffing levels to meet requirements of the terminal ensuring the operation has full coverage.
- Manage and supervise our 24-hour cross dock facility.
- Responsible for approximately 55 employees.
- Oversee City Pick Up and Delivery Fleet of approximately 25 trucks and 80 trailers.
- Manage terminal activities, including dock operations, load planning, dispatching, driver scheduling, and customer service to optimize productivity and minimize delays.
- Set mandatory standard operating procedures within the terminal.
- Manage and supervise employee performance daily.
- Attend and facilitate meetings to ensure any issues are being addressed.
- Hold staff accountable for assigned duties.
- Monitor to ensure drivers and terminal personnel adhere to established regulation and safety standards.
- Operate terminal efficiently by analyzing operating costs and equipment utilization.
- Pre plan for vacation requests, seasonal or holiday impacts according to the union agreement.
- Monitor terminal performance against goals to ensure that progress is being made, and that corrective action is taken, if necessary, by measuring key performance indicators such as on-time performance (OTP), on time departures, and productivity.
- Monitor compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery.
- Provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
- Measure and monitor key indicators of service delivered.
- Monitor to ensure that all reporting employees adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Coverage as needed throughout the office for vacation and sick days.
- Performs other duties as required.

**Required Qualifications**:

- High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years' management experience in the Transportation field.
- Minimum of two years managing and negotiating within a union environment.
- Proven team leadership.
- Strong knowledge of dispatch, transportation management and logistics solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on operations and business processes.
- Requires the ability to manage multiple activities and initiatives and adapt to changing priorities on a day-to-day basis, while maintaining organization effectiveness.
- Ability to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles on any employment-related issue for successful resolution.
- A clear and solid understanding of personnel policies, practices, and procedures and other operational issues faced by the organization.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
- Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Able to work well under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
