The Technical Officer is a key support role to the Waste Treatment Center Operations Team, and will provide support role to a System Responsible Operations Specialist. As such, Technical Officers need to be capable of developing a thorough understanding of their assigned processes and systems within the WTC. A working level understanding of company processes including, but not limited to, Integrated Work Control, Occupational Safety and Health Procedures, and Radiation Protection principles. The facility technical officers will be required to become qualified as building Emergency Stewards.

**What will you be doing?**
- Be a technical resource to Facility Maintenance, Operations and project activities.
- Lead and support work planning from assessment to completion (eg. Integrated Work Control).
- Perform Job Lead duties in the field to ensure execution goes as planned, to add technical input and direct reaction to unexpected conditions.
- Maintain records throughout assignments from planning through completion (e.g., history files).
- Make efficient use of storage capacity available in waste storage tanks and remediation projects within the Facility.
- Monitor tank levels versus projections and interact with supervisions and SROS staff to ensure production schedules align with site demands.
- Liaise with facility members and support groups to ensure support aligns with production schedules.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records throughout assignments from planning through completion (e.g., history files).
- Liaise with facility personnel, waste generators and stakeholder groups.
- Aid in the development of waste projections from existing, new and planned facilities.
- Communicate projections to facility personnel to maintain alignment with generation.
- Represent the facility with support groups and stakeholders as required.

**What we are looking for?**

**Education**:
Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent and normally has ten (10) years of pertinent and progressive experience or the equivalent in experience, additional education and/or training;
OR

Graduation from a recognized institute of advanced technology, or equivalent formal education, in a field relevant to the position and normally has six (6) to eight (8) years of pertinent technological experience.

S ecurity clearance eligibility required : Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom.

**Experience**:

- Knowledge/experience in an industrial plant operation (not necessarily nuclear operations);
- Knowledge of CRL operations and work planning;
- Good verbal and technical writing skills;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software; and
- Possession of a valid Ontario general driver’s license.
