Marketing Communications Coordinator

The Marketing Communications Coordinator supports the firm on corporate communications and content amplification initiatives. This role requires strong writing and editing skills, emphasizing the creation of content for both internal and external channels. The Coordinator also plays a key role in project coordination and client service across various communication initiatives, and ensuring projects are executed with the highest level of quality and efficiency.
**Principal Duties & Responsibilities**:
**Writing communications (internal/external)**:
- Develop, maintain and post professional biographies for lawyers and executives on the firm’s website.
- Coordinate communications for incoming lawyers (law clerks, students, associates, stagiaires and partners) and execute the promotion plan.
- Monitor, draft and promote lawyers for board appointments, representative work, committee involvement, conferences, and speaking engagements.
- Responsible for writing other corporate communications (print and digital), as well as proofreading and/or coordinating, including, but not limited to:
- Firm-wide initiatives, internal committees, internal leadership communications, e.g., from Chair, Managing Partners, National Director; Manager, Communications & Media Relations;
- Marketing copy for brochures, corporate website practice group pages content, and other marketing collateral;
- Sponsorship, seminar, conference communications plans and support to Business Development teams;
- Announcements, advertisements, campaigns, and other projects as needed.
**Directories and awards**:
- Assist with development of project briefs and communications plans for promotion of content, accolades, and award recognitions.
- Assist in supporting our national initiatives with external directory organizations, including analyzing accolades and firm profiles.
- Assist with development and submission of nominations for awards and other recognitions.
**Marketing coordination and administrative support**:
- Assist with updating and maintaining department templates, processes, calendars, trackers, and contact lists, including providing regular reporting on projects, analytics, and firm accolades, as required.
- Coordinate content approvals with stakeholders and the adaptation and translation of communications and marketing collateral.
- Provide a range of ad hoc support on research and competitive intelligence for opportunities including, but not limited to, awards, publications, media opportunities, advertising, and sponsorships.
- Assist with promotional items, including tracking quantities and disbursements, providing items by request to lawyers and offices, and sourcing custom items with vendors.
- May perform other duties as assigned with the nature and level of the job.
**Knowledge and Experience**:
- A degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, or related field
- 3+ years’ experience in B2B marketing or professional services marketing
- Marketing, communications, writing experience in corporate communications or public relations an asset.
**Skills & Abilities**:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong and persuasive business writing style and creative skills, including copywriting.
- SEO experience in writing communications for print, digital, and social media (LinkedIn, X, etc.)
- Excellent project coordination and organizational skills.
- Understanding of brand and writing while maintaining brand positioning
- Ability to quickly set and adapt to competing priorities, as well as problem solving skills
- Detail orientated, results driven, proactive and able to work autonomously, as well as in a team environment
- Computer proficiency in a wide range of programs, including Microsoft suite, and web content management system experience preferred
- Ability to establish relationships and work with a wide variety of stakeholders, with a focus on “service excellence”
- French an asset
