**The Opportunity**

The Construction, Claims and Payment Coordinator provides support to comply with prompt payment
requirements including (but not limited to) the following: payment certification preparation and processing;
timelines and process tracking for invoicing; administrative support for construction contracts; assessing and
preparing responses (in coordination with Legal Services) for contractor and public claims. The position
provides support and follows up on process and documentation on insurance claims, WSIB and performance
bonds. Ensures construction health and safety compliance through the development of department-specific
SOPs and compliance field audits. Ensures construction health and safety compliance through the

**What you will do: What you will need**:

- Facilitates the procurement process for professional

and construction services including construction
tender documents (RFT), Requests for Proposals
(RFP) and Requests for Quotations (RFQ).
- Act as the department’s principal liaison with

Procurement, Insurance & Risk Management and
Legal Services staff on matters related to tender
calls and RFP’s, and the execution of the
corresponding contracts and agreements.
- Facilitate the preparation and processing of

progress payments for construction contracts,
payments for invoices and operating expenditures.
- Ensures contractual obligations and District policies

and procedures related to payments are met in
accordance with construction contracts and
consultant agreements.
- Post-secondary diploma in a related field

such as Engineering, Legal, Finance,
Business Administration, Purchasing or an
equivalent combination of education and
experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years directly related

progressive experience, preferably in a
municipal environment.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and

regulation including the Contraction Act,
Highway Traffic Act, the Municipal Act (in
reference to Minimum maintenance
Standards), ESA (Employment Standards
Act), Construction Act, Occupational Health
and Safety Act.

**What we are offering**

This is a **Permanent Full-time** opportunity at the District. The hourly compensation range for this role is
