We are currently hiring an Accounts Payables Manager in the Hub Financial Center (HFC ), the centralized accounting team for HUB International. Reporting to a department head, the Accounts Payables Manager is responsible for directing, administering, and coordinating the functions of the Premium Payables department. Key responsibilities include building, coaching, and developing a team that lives the HFC Purpose of being a trusted partner and focusing on our fiduciary responsibility to both our clients and each other. Additionally driving continuous improvement of process and service within the team.

What you’ll do

Manage a team of payables clerks that code expenses, verify and process invoices, and issue payments.

Maintains payment records and ensure that transactions are posted to the company ledger.

Monitor accuracy and timeliness of disbursements by onshore and offshore teams and make recommendations for process efficiencies.

Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions.

Monitor accuracy and timeliness of client/premium finance company return premium disbursements.

Monitor any notice of cancellations and perform root cause analysis.

Provide timely and accurate reporting of aged open payables due to the carriers/wholesalers and debit payables owed to HUB.

Primarily focused on administering established policies and procedures but may have some impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural change.

Performs approval process as needed in accordance with authority level.

Ensures that invoices or other financial obligations are processed and paid in a timely manner.

Serve as key liaison to off-shore team for premium payables function.

Serve as leadership role in coordinating and reviewing information for internal and external audits.

Analyze, research and resolve complex problems.

Build and maintain positive working relationships to client service operations and markets.

Serve as escalation path to markets and client service teams for urgent or mishandled transactions.

Establish and monitor department performance metrics.

Provide direct support to department leads as required.

What you bring to our team

Requires at least 5 years’ experience in accounting field

Requires at least 5 years Managerial experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Intermediate/Advanced Word and Excel Skills required

Ability to perform complex tasks, typically, following established processes

Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills

Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

High degree of accuracy with a good eye for detail

Self-motivated and proactive leader

Ability to work as part of a team

Demonstrated ability to take initiative and achieve results in a fast-paced and changing environment

Must anticipate and be able to flex hours to support the team during peak/growth times.

Experience in a shared services accounting environment preferred.

Insurance Brokerage Experience preferred.
