Reporting to the Dispatch, Scales and Customer Service Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of the scales at the Montreal and Laval sites, and for maintaining high quality standards in the management of weights and transactions initiated in the company's computer systems.
In addition to performing the duties of a scale clerk from time to time, the Scale Team Leader must also perform the following tasks:
- Act as the main resource for the proper use of scales and computer systems to ensure 100% accurate weights
- Maximize the volume and weight of products transported, in collaboration with drivers and transport supervisors
- Plan and organize team work hours to support customer needs and scale operations at Montreal and Laval sites
- Take charge of the integration of new employees
- Provide support to department employees regarding work methods, procedures and tools to be used
- Participate in the development of clerical balances by coaching and identifying needs for improvement and training
- Communicate performance indicators to his/her team
- Participate in the annual evaluation, probation and disciplinary measures of the team
- Resolve complex balancing situations and administrative tasks such as payroll processing, driver vacation and money management with the service provider
- Maintain high standards of pro-active written and verbal communication with internal and external customers, administrative staff and sales team
- Be constantly on the lookout for improvement, proposing innovations or value-added ideas that will improve or simplify work processes
- Participate in the optimal use of resources during operating hours.
**Qualifications**
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in customer service
- 5 years' experience in personnel management in logistics, customer service, administration or a related field; or a combination of studies/experience deemed equivalent
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Bilingual (French and English), both spoken and written.
