Recruitment & Onboarding Administrator

**Purpose**:
The University Services Centre (USC) plays a critical role in ensuring York University's commitment to Service Excellence. The USC brings together talent and expertise from across administration functions internal and external to York, into one customer-focused service delivery entity. The USC focuses on developing and delivering services to York that are consistent, streamlined and customer-centric using technology and simplified processes. The USC is built on a commitment to customer service excellence, accountability, and trust, enabled by a strong service-oriented culture, data-driven practice, and simplified processes.Reporting to the Manager, Recruitment and Onboarding Services, the Recruitment & Onboarding Administrator (ROA) works collaboratively with the Recruitment & Onboarding Consultant (ROC), performing the work required to effectively support the hiring manager and People Partner (the client) in the areas of recruitment and onboarding of non-academic and non-management staff ensuring adherence to provisions of the appropriate collective agreements, internal operating policies and procedures, applicable legislation, and client service level agreements across multiple faculties and units acting as the primary point of contact for the applicant.
**Education**:
Post Secondary Degree in human resources or related field of study (Psychology/Social Sciences) or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
**Experience**:
2 years of recent and related experience in high volume human resources environment.
**Skills**:
Knowledge
Knowledge and understanding of recruitment, onboarding, problem-solving, and client relations support.
Good working knowledge of recruitment and onboarding administration principles and practices in a unionized environment.
Knowledge and understanding of Canadian and international legislation, ethical standards, and policy documents relating to recruitment, sourcing, selection, hiring, data collection, privacy, and accessibility.
Knowledge and understanding of talent market trends and emerging issues.
**Skills**:Ability to communicate with sensitivity to cultural values and beliefs to enable mutual understanding and respect.
Ability to foster collaboration and communication and advance two-way dialogue to promote applicant and client engagement and problem resolution.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Effective interpersonal skills with proven ability to nurture client and applicant relationships.
Effective planning and organizational skills with ability to prioritize workload and meet timelines within a complex changing environment of competing client needs.
Effective tact and diplomacy, with ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Proficient in adapting to and learning new automated recruitment and onboarding systems.
**Additional Notes**:
Works within a typical open office environment (actual and/or virtual).
- **Compensation**:
York's CPM Compensation Framework has a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award. Employees will receive the grid adjustment and depending on performance, eligible permanent employees may move to the next step of the grid and may receive a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.Visit the CPM Compensation page on the HR Website to find out more about York's CPM Compensation Program.
