**What you’ll do**

The Associate Vice President, Tools, leads the team that manages the Tools assortment across Canadian Tire’s network of over 500 stores, managed in partnership with our Associate Dealers, making a positive difference in the lives of millions of Canadians each year. The category portfolio includes air, power, and hand tools; mechanics tools; tool storage and accessories; welding and metal working; wet/dry vacs; and, garage organization. This individual will lead transformative change, grounded in customer data and analytics, through strategic business development and an omni-channel approach that will grow our consumer base and maximize financial returns to the business.
- Lead a diverse merchandising team comprised of 6 managers and 5 analysts, while also directing a large cross-functional support team spanning Replenishment, Forecast, Planning, Promotions, and Product Development.
- Provide strategic leadership, coaching and development, through multi-year planning of product assortments that consistently meet or exceed sales, margin, and inventory targets.
- Lead category development through strategies that are grounded in a deep understanding of customer data and market trends.
- Foster strong, positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Hold accountability of the team’s responsibility to deliver the financial performance required by the organization.

**What you bring**
- 10 years of experience in the retail industry; in purchasing, store operations, marketing, merchandising, finance; ideally, direct category management experience.
- Strong financial acumen with a track record of driving results and business transformation.
- At least 5 years leadership/management experience with a strong propensity for team building, coaching, and mentoring.
- Highly effective relationship management skills employed to deliver successful organizational change and growth.
- University degree preferred.
