Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking an
- **Incident Investigation Specialist**.**Qualifications***:

- Education: University Degree in OH&S, Quality Systems, Management Systems or other suitable field such as policing, fire, insurance, etc.
- Experience:

- 7-10 years working within a safety capacity in an industrial environment
- 7-10 years investigation experience
- Program Management & Systems development experience
- Experience in Root Cause Analysis methodology, preferably TapRoot
- Lean-Six-Sigma experience is desirable
- Certificate in Root Cause or Investigation methodologies considered an asset
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) considered an asset
- All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)._

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Acting as lead investigator in safety incident investigations ensuring proper procedures, investigation documentation and lessons learned are documented and actioned on
- Supporting through coaching and mentoring the investigation teams on how to conduct a streamlined investigation
- Ensuring that investigation is initiated and completed in a timely and efficient time frame
- Coordinating the proper people and departments ensuring they’re included in the investigation and resulting actions, including witnesses and parties involved with an incident
- Acting on behalf of Irving Shipbuilding to communicate with the regulators and government officials
- Supporting presentation to senior leadership on lessons learned following the investigation.
- Compiling post investigation reports and presentations to highlight lessons learned and develop process improvements
