Products and services include mergers & acquisitions, debt and equity financing, corporate banking, institutional equity sales, trading and research, fixed income products, derivatives, and foreign exchange.

**Position Highlights**

The Associate, Commercial DPG will be responsible to contribute to the overall success of the Commercial FX & Derivative Products Group. This will include supporting the primary coverage personnel with sales and structuring of interest rate derivative hedges for Scotiabank’s Canadian Commercial Banking clients. The team provides clients with end -to-end coverage including product education, trade execution, and post-trade support.

**Is this role right for you?**
- Assist with distributing a range of interest derivative products (both linear and non-linear) to new and established Commercial Banking clients
- Provide innovative ideas, timely market and economic information, and exceptional service
- Prepare marketing materials (client presentations and market updates) and internal business reports for key partners and management
- Execute financial models to determine XVA and capital charges to support final pricing of client transactions
- Develop and maintain strong internal relationships with other DPG and FX teammates, trading, back office, and other GBM partners
- Cultivate new client relationships by working closely with internal partners, including Relationship Management (Commercial Banking) and other product groups
- Cross-sell the Bank’s wholesale banking services to deepen existing relationships and cultivate new ones
- Protect the Bank from loss and/or exposure to unnecessary risks through strict compliance with applicable acts, policies and regulations as applicable

**Do you have the skills/qualifications that will enable you to succeed in this role?**:

- Previous experience in Capital Markets, Commercial/Corporate Banking, or other relevant area
- Strong team player able to collaborate with internal groups in achieving cross sell objectives and franchise growth
- Solid presentation and communication skills; comfortable speaking in front of an audience and explaining complex ideas
- Excellent PC skills with strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and data analysis in particular
- Very strong business development and marketing skills; sales experience in the Financial Services industry would be an asset
- Experience with interest rate derivative related systems including Bloomberg, Markitwire, and Peak would be an asset
- Understanding of the banking regulatory environment
- Familiarity with hedge accounting would be an asset
- Undergraduate degree in relevant field
- Graduate degree and/or CFA designation an asset
- Successful completion of the National Futures Association’s Swaps Proficiency Requirement (SPR) with first month in role
