About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled OTC Derivative Confirmations Specialist to join our team at BMO. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate settlement of security, derivative, foreign exchange, and money market transactions executed globally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft and execute OTC derivative confirmations for interest rate, commodity, or equity derivatives, both electronically and in paper form.
  • Communicate directly with clients and internal groups to ensure seamless execution of transactions.
  • Contribute to the creation and ongoing execution of effective processes associated with derivative confirmations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory topics and reporting requirements.
  • Provide support and deliver specific operational processes to ensure timely and accurate settlement of transactions, including pre and post-settlement support related to account opening, confirmation, cash management, margin, and collateralization.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on business objectives, including the development and implementation of new processes and systems.
  • Analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations, and identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to execute work and fulfill service delivery expectations.
Requirements
  • Typically between 3-5 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in OTC derivatives.
  • Extensive knowledge of interest rate, commodity, and/or equity OTC derivative products.
  • Knowledge and experience using relevant systems and technology.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the business unit's key products and services, processes, and controls.
  • Prioritization skills.

  • PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
