Reporting to the Childcare Manager, The Childcare Supervisor will be responsible for day to day operations of a licensed child care program which may include infant, toddler, preschoolers. Supervising staff, accountable to work within budgets, scheduling, following ministry of Education guideline, public health, Hiring, following

YMCA policies and procedures, following YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum and to support children and

Families in care.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Consistently demonstrate and reinforce the values of caring, honesty, inclusiveness, respect and

responsibility,
- Provide consistent quality client service,

Initiate and maintain positive working relationships with school personnel, families and YMCA staff,
- Communicate with Childcare Manager on a regular basis,
- Maintain accurate documentation of attendance and emergency information on each child,
- Comply with all emergency procedures appropriate to the site,
- Maintain equipment and supplies; be respectful of school property,
- Consistently demonstrate positive interaction with all children,
- Consistently demonstrate positive discipline by teaching and redirecting,
- Positively I.D. before releasing child,
- Respond to, and escalate as needed, client concerns in a positive and timely manner,
- Plan and deliver a program that offers quality, age appropriate care that meets and/or exceeds the

regulations outlined by the Ministry of Education,
- Complete incident and accident reports of all injuries,
- Support with remote learning when required,
- Complete daily, weekly, monthly cleaning and sanitization protocols of program space and equipment,
- Document all daily required health assessments, cleaning, visitor logs and touch points as required,
- Complete symptoms of ill health forms and reports,
- Other duties as assigned by the Childcare Manager,

**WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE POSITION**:

- Early Childhood Education Diploma
- Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act and requirements
- Knowledge of YMCA Playing to Learn an asset
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
- Current First Aid and CPR Level C
- Food Handlers Certification
- Up to Date Immunizations
- Experience in a leadership role
- 2 year’s experience in a licenced childcare setting
