Kinder Learning Centres is seeking an experienced Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As an Early Childhood Development Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Job Summary

We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 per year, plus benefits. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of professionals who share a passion for early childhood education and development.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers, and assist in carrying out programs that support child development
  • Lead activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and taking children on outings to local points of interest
  • Encourage children to express creativity through various mediums, including art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
Requirements
  • Educational background in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field
  • First Aid Certificate and CPR certification
  • Experience working with children with special needs, including those with deafness or hard of hearing, mental health disabilities, behavioral issues, allergies, asthma, ADHD, or ADD
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with children, parents, and staff
Working Conditions
  • Work site environment: outdoors, noisy, non-smoking, air-conditioned
  • Work setting: child care centre
  • Physically demanding, requiring combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling
