**Role and Responsibilities**:
- Perform full-cycle internal bookkeeping,
- Reconcile bank accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit cards and inter company transactions on monthly basis.
- Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries, preparing trial balance, and reconciling entries.
- Accurately complete GST/HST, EHT, WSIB monthly and annual returns.
- Performing month-end and year-end closings in a timely manner and prepare financial and accounting reports as required.
- Process and reconcile payroll through payroll software and ensure payroll tax deduction are reconciled.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with accounts payables and cash flow forecasting and ensure adequate operational funds.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Requirements**:
- Diploma in accounting or bookkeeping or relevant field of study.
- 1-3 years of experience in bookkeeping, preferably in the Public Accounting industry.
- Must have strong understanding of accounting principles and concepts.
- Working experience and knowledge of processing payroll
- Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Technical skills for accounting, tax knowledge and bookkeeping.
- Proficient in use of Quickbooks Desktop and Quickbooks Online.
- Strong data entry skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to exercise tact and discretion in dealing with confidential issues.
- Ability to take initiative, meet tight deadlines and multi-task in a fast-paced environment characterized by changing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication and comprehension skills.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Analytical skills for analyzing financial statements and preparing files.
- Experience using Microsoft Suite; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
