**About The STEAM Project**

Get ready for an amazing summer experience, where creativity and imagination flourish The STEAM Project is the first and largest STEAM summer camp in York Region. We offer two fantastic camp programs for children and youth ages 4-14 across three locations in Richmond Hill and Markham, where campers from across the GTA can spend their summers building, making, creating, and staying active. At our STEAM and Outdoor Adventure summer camps, campers can develop and hone their skills through creative play, group design challenges, and problem-solving activities.

**Our Locations**:
Richland Academy (11570 Yonge St): JK - Grade 2, STEAM Camp

Richmond Hill Curling Club (121 Elgin Mills E): Grade 3 - Grade 9, STEAM Camp

Fletcher’s Fields Markham (2743 19th Ave): SK - 8, STEAM Camp & Outdoor Adventure Camp activities.

**Schedule**:
PT in June for training (4-5 days)

FT in July and August for camp

Monday - Friday, 8:45am - 4:30pm

**Job Overview**:
We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic camp counsellors to join our Summer 2023 camp team. Our counsellors are integral to an amazing summer camp experience. They oversee a group of campers within a specific age group (we call them Cabins), acting as a positive role model by providing optimal supervision and ensuring a safe, fun experience. Counsellors are the ones that are able to get campers excited aboutjust about everything We offer some of the coolest, cutting edge technology and provide campers with enriching, next-level programs and activities. If you have experience working with children and have a passion for inspiring youth, STEAM, and camp, we would love to meet you
- Has experience supervising children in a camp/recreation/educational setting
- Is team-oriented and collaborative
- Will maintain excellent rapport with staff, campers, and camp families
- Is understanding of the uniqueness of each camper and staff member and able to find ways to make everyone feel part of the team

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide optimal supervision and enrichment to a group of campers ages 4-14
- Deliver fun, hands-on activities to campers
- Communicate with other counsellors, instructors, and the Leadership Team
- Ensure camper safety at all times
- Basic administrative tasks, including but not limited to; camper evaluations and birthday cards
- Manage camper conduct as needed
- Have a ton of fun

**Job Requirements**:

- Previous experience working with children, ideally in a camp or recreation setting

**Considered an Asset**:

- For STEAM Camp: Experience with making, robotics, coding, electronics, 2D/3D Design
- For Outdoor Adventure Camp: Experience in outdoor activities like survival skills, archery, firebuilding, knot tying, sports, or similar.

**Additional Requirements**:

- Must be at least 16 years of age by December 31st, 2023.
- Current Basic First Aid with CPR-C (or willingness to obtain)
- Vulnerable Sector Screening Check (upon hire - if under 18 years of age, a voluntary disclosure form will be provided by the camp for you to sign instead)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 2 months

**Salary**: $15.00-$15.50 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Richmond Hill, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
