EPL is looking for a passionate and driven Customer Experience Events Specialist to deliver impactful and high-quality events in EPL spaces and virtual environments. This position will manage all aspects of the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of EPL events supporting Adult and Youth Services, the Teaching Kitchen, Indigenous Services, systems teams and other EPL events.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Act as the key point of contact with clients, partners, an internal staff to identify, plan, and execute high caliber events.
- Collaborate with internal departments for the promotion of events and activities, booking performers, vendors, purchasing supplies, etc.
- Oversee training of event space support staff and event volunteers.
- Streamline event processes and procedures to ensure the ongoing delivery of customer experience library events and services.
- Make technology, facility, and process recommendations to enhance event, program and service delivery capacities.
- Develop and maintain documentation and best practices to support event, program and service delivery, and prepare reports related to them.
- Support the development and maintenance of up-to-date events information posted to EPL's web site and in printed materials.
- Participate in ad hoc teams, as requested. Work cooperatively with all internal stakeholders to develop and implement programs that support the priorities of the Edmonton Public Library.

**Qualifications**:

- Related degree with a minimum of three years of progressive experience in events management and/or managing complex projects.
- Excellent project management, communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
- Superior problem solving skills, a high level of organizational ability and ability to deal with multiple deadlines and demands.
- Strong decision making skills demonstrated by strategies that move the organization forward, effective goal setting, action plans and evaluation of successes and failures.
- Coursework in event planning and project management is an asset.

**Pay Band**:
$33.31 - $42.52 per hour*
- Approximately $60,866 - $77,698 per annum based on a 35 hour work week.

This is a new position. The Employer and the Union are currently discussing the classification and working conditions. In the event of a change to the recommended classification level, the resulting rate of wages shall be retroactive to the date of the appointment.

**Note**:

- Satisfactory background screening is required for this position which includes a security screening.
- This position regularly has a weekday schedule; occasional evening and weekend shifts are required.
