Your job would be to promote Vankoji Foods line of koji based seasonings. What is Koji? What is Shio-koji? What is Shoyu koji? Those are exactly the questions you will be answering all day and then connect people with how these probiotic and umami rich products will become a staple in their kitchen, and complement their native cooking style.
This position is a **part-time opportunity**, with market days on weekends, six to eight times per month in the Summer and about four times per month in the winter.
Successful applicants will have a warm and outgoing personality, and enjoy the variety of tasks that are involved in running a stall at a local farmer's markets.
**Primary Responsibilities**
- Vendor booth set up at market locations including tent set up, tables, sanitization, and product display set up.
- Following food safety guidelines while sampling and handling products.
- Meet sales expectations through describing products, their use, and answering customer questions.
- Keeping accurate records of product sales and trades.
- Booth tear down, packing up unsold products in an organized and careful manner, and cleaning up.
- Maintaining a positive, friendly attitude when dealing with the customers, vendors, and the general public.
**Qualifications**
- Excellent arithmetic skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good English communication skills. (perfect English is not required)
- Japanese communication skills an asset.
- Direct sales and customer service experience
- Show initiative and adaptability
**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 0-12 per week
**Salary**: From $18.00 per hour
Day range:
- Weekends only
