This position will focus on visiting our various Branches across Canada for the primary purpose of performing field visits and safety audits to evaluate and promote safety compliance and good practices. This person will also help our Branches maintain compliance with Federal or Provincial legislation, is responsible for participating in the development and implementation of the Schindler Canada Safety Strategy and will liaise with our field staff in matters of safety.

The position will serve as the primary safety and health resource supporting our field and front-line managers and will work closely with the balance of the Field Quality & Excellence (FQE) Team on corporate safety directives, including alignment with the global safety fundamentals. The role includes planning, implementing, and monitoring safety programs and processes within Schindler Canada to ensure compliance with Schindler policies/guidelines, as well as the applicable industry and government regulations.

The role will include coordination with staff members in multiple departments to develop and implement improved policies, processes and practices that increase worker safety, reduce injuries and promote an accident - free work environment in a way that positively enhances the safety culture so that operating costs are reduced.
- Assist in managing the Occupational Health and Safety Management System as required and directed.
- Provide feedback to drive analysis of Canadian historical injury / incident data, ongoing challenges and opportunities, and safety program/process effectiveness to identify focus areas for improvement. Provide comprehensive, detailed report of program review findings as well as recommended corrective actions to the FQE / Safety Team.
- Provide the materials, tools, training, information and other support as needed to Branch managers, Regional Managers, Supervisors and offices to enable them to perform their roles and responsibilities within the Schindler Canada Safety Playbook, policies, procedures, Schindler Group and legislative requirements.
- Provide direction to front line field staff and front-line managers regarding worker's compensation processes and safety practices and record documentation processes.
- Conduct documented safety plan and program review annually in 100% of Canada to assess compliance to Program requirements and execution of branch plans.
- Coordinate, working closely with the Regional FQE Business Partners across Regions / Branches, in the upgrade or revision of Branch safety and health plans as needed to improve program compliance and effectiveness.
- Manage the injury and near miss incident investigation and corrective action processes in cooperation with line management to ensure the Schindler Canada incident reporting process is followed for all OHSA reportable injuries, illnesses, and any near misses with potentially serious consequences within Canada.
- Responsible for timely notification to FQE V.P. and management of serious or significant safety, health, or environmental issues, including those which may be reportable to regulators.
- Directly participate in all serious incident investigations involving amputation, fracture, loss of consciousness or fatality when invited.
- Provide monthly summary report to FQE and Regional / Branch Managers containing YTD safety performance metrics, training attendance compliance, compliance to schedule of selected program elements and other data pertinent to the area.
- Provide recommended action plans and support to execute plans to fill identified gaps.
- Represent Schindler Canada as required and invited in interaction with regulatory, legal and insurance entities in responding to OHSA citations and employ
