The Coordinator manages the Ontario High School admissions area which involves supervising and co-ordinating the admissions process for this group of applicants ensuring Western achieves the first-year enrolment targets for each faculty and program as set out by the Senate Subcommittee on Undergraduate Enrollment Planning and Policy (SUEPP). The Coordinator is responsible for receiving, acknowledging, adjudicating, producing, and communicating admissions decisions to over 27,000 Ontario High School applicants to the University’s seven first-entry undergraduate faculties and their programs.

The Coordinator’s mandate is to ensure the University’s admission standards, as set by the Senate, are adhered to and maintained through exemplary customer service, the adjudication of applicants, and from time to time, the initiation and review of Senate policies governing admissions of Ontario High School applicants.

**Qualifications**:

- Education:
- Undergraduate degree
- Master’s degree in a business or educational administrative field preferred
- Experience:
- 3 years’ experience working in Undergraduate Admissions
- Experience supervising staff in a postsecondary institution
- Previous supervisory experience in a Registrar’s or Admissions Office at a postsecondary institution preferred
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of student processes from admission through to registration
- Knowledge and understanding of Western’s Senate policies on admission and transfer preferred
- Working knowledge of Ministry of Colleges and Universities strategies, guidelines, and trends on student mobility preferred
- Leadership skills with a track record of building and leading a team of professional, high performing staff
- High degree of professionalism with outstanding ability to work effectively and efficiently with internal and external clients at all levels of management
- Strong customer service skills to handle inquiries and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner
- Judgment, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a consultative and collaborative approach to addressing issues, opportunities, and change
- Ability to build strong collegial relationships in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and handle multiple conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and confidence dealing with all levels of an organization
- Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy and analyze and synthesize sizeable amounts of detail/data
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage activities both for self and others
- Strong people management experience with direct accountability for recruitment, ongoing training and development, and performance management
- Proven ability to take initiative and champion a project from conception through implementation and evaluation
- Basic knowledge of the Ontario high school and post-secondary education systems.
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to stay abreast of new technologies
