Team Lead, Talent Acquisition

Job Summary:
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage the full cycle recruitment processes within the People and Culture department.
- Build strong relationships with hiring managers, understanding their unique hiring needs and challenges, and providing expert advice on talent acquisition strategies.
- Foster a culture of excellence and collaboration inspiring team members to perform at their best, leveraging diverse strengths and talents to achieve shared goals.
- Motivate the team through ongoing guidance and mentorship.
- Provide ongoing coaching, training, and development opportunities to the team to enhance their skills and develop a clear vision that inspires high performance.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, encouraging continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with People and Culture partners to ensure alignment with overall People and Culture strategies and policies.
- Manage the recruitment process using the applicant tracking system to enhance the company-wide recruitment process.
- Provide training on effective interview techniques to all levels of leadership, and assist in the decision-making process.
- Partner with team members and hiring managers to create a consistent hiring process at all locations both within Canada and the United States.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to negotiate job offers, to secure top talent for the organization.
- Arrange and conduct interviews including telephone pre-screens, individual, panel and in-person or virtual interviews for positions from entry level to management to review credentials for suitability of skills, experience, and knowledge in relation to position requirements.
- Administer various employment checks including but not limited to, reference and medical checks, while liaising with vendors, and managing appointments.
- Maintain the Porter Careers webpage with current job opportunities.
- Create and maintain various interview packages.
- Promote the company as an employer of choice through participation in recruitment events, career fairs, and networking events.
- Provide updates to the People and Culture team as well as the business on recruitment progress.
- Proactive, resourceful and innovative in identifying the most effective ways to achieve objectives while helping to reduce costs.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in talent acquisition.
- Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy.

Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education with a focus in Human Resources
- 4 - 5 years of experience in human resources, working in a recruiting environment
- 1 - 2 years of experience leading a small team
- Customer service oriented approach and natural ability to be a team player
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated with strong initiative
- Superior organizational skills
- Results oriented and the ability to multitask
- Strong knowledge of employment law and regulations
- Experience using applicant tracking systems
- Other systems knowledge/experience an asset
- Strong computer skills including knowledge using the Google platform and MS Office products, extensive experience with web-based tools and the internet, experience in HTML is an asset
- Able to travel when required
- Must have a valid passport
