Electrical Assembler

**SUMMARY**
Under the direction of the Workshop Team Leader, this position is responsible for the electrical build of automated systems equipment. This involves the electrical assembly and debugging of all electrical panels and equipment ensuring their completion is on time according to project schedules. The Electrician provides technical support to other departments in electrical builds as required. In addition, this position will require you to travel to customer sites to assist with installation.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES **include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Electrical builds of automation systems equipment. This includes electrical panels, HMI’s, various motor controls, safety circuits, field wiring, cable carriers, and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV).
- Oversee electrical installation of equipment at customer locations performed by local contractors.
- Liaison with other Cimcorp/Muratec employees to provide solutions through system troubleshooting & diagnostics.
- Respond to inquiries, questions, concerns from individual employees and departments. This involves providing technical support in the area of electrical builds.
- Provide ongoing assistance and support in the day-to-day activities of the shop.
- Assist with shop maintenance as required.
- Responsible for ensuring the shop floor is clear of hazards. This includes reporting hazards to the Workshop Supervisor when they are encountered and assisting with the elimination and prevention of these hazards.
- Maintain confidentiality of information accessed in accordance with Cimcorp/Muratec policies and procedures.
- Ensure all Muratec health and safety policies, procedures, and responsibilities under the OHSA, are followed during all work activities at site and at the Grimsby location.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**
Licensed Tradesperson (Industrial Electrician 442A) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial automation or Post-secondary degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
**LANGUAGE SKILLS**
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
**MATHEMATICAL SKILLS**
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
**REASONING ABILITY**
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
**OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Strong ability to read electrical drawings, mechanical assembly, and maintenance skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build electrical panels and equipment while utilizing sound safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-function team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to deal courteously and effectively with all levels of staff, customers, vendors, partners, and any other potential stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook, and the Internet.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures, standards, regulations, public safety, and security.
**TRAVEL**
This position requires up to 20% travel including domestic and international. A valid driver’s license and good driving record are required. Must have or be eligible to obtain a passport for international travel.
