Your main goal will be to create a safe work environment and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization. The position will be based in Fort Saskatchewan, AB in an industrial setting.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop preventive measures
- Provide safety training to employees on various topics such as hazard identification, emergency response, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities
- Collaborate with management to develop emergency response plans and conduct drills
- Stay up-to-date with new regulations and industry best practices

**Requirements**:

- Proven work experience as a Safety Officer or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
- Certification in occupational health and safety is preferred
- NSCO certification is required.
- Previous experience as a Safety Officer in an industrial setting is preferred
