**JOB SUMMARY**

Reporting to the Community Facility Coordinator, the Community Facility Supervisor will assist in ensuring that all City of Markham Recreation Facilities within a community run effectively and efficiently, giving all residents of Markham an opportunity to fully enjoy safe experiences within facilities. This will include administration of building systems, contract administration, while ensuring that staff are well supervised, trained and well managed. This position will assist in overseeing capital projects within designated area, monitoring for timely completion on established budget, potentially serving as Project Manager for smaller projects. This position will be an integral member of the Facilities functional team, working closely with the Community Facility Coordinator and other facility staff. This position will mentor, support, motivate and provide guidance on performance management of all facilities staff within area while maintaining positive relationships with fellow area staff, residents, community groups and clients.

**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assist in administration and supervision for all facilities within a given community
- Assist in recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, payroll and managing performance of part-time and full-time staff in a unionized environment
- Assist with the development and ongoing monitoring of operating budgets including identification of capital budget needs
- Ensure an environment of customer service excellence exists when dealing with all internal and external stakeholder
- Conduct regular customer satisfaction surveys
- Ensure that all facilities comply with established health and legal regulations
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of promotional materials
- Maintain accurate records and ensure total compliance with established health regulations and industry standards

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
- Post-secondary education (community college diploma or university degree) in recreation facilities management or equivalent (ORFA) facility certifications and a management certificate from a recognized College/University
- At least three years supervisory experience in a facilities capacity
- Knowledge of facility maintenance including energy conservation systems, project management and building automation systems, risk management practice, and Green building design standards
- Current certifications in Standard First Aid and CPR
- Refrigeration B Certificate an asset
- Certified Pool Operator
- Computer skills: MS Office; experience with CLASS an asset
- Must be willing and available to work shifts that regularly include nights and weekends.
