**JOB OVERVIEW**
Reporting to the Division Manager, the Lab and Field Material Testing Coordinator, is responsible for completing testing for the Geotechnical service line in our Edmonton location. The Coordinator will provide Testing and other quality tasks in the field and from our in-house lab. This position also has a potential opportunity to grow with the division. There could be opportunities to learn about Survey as well.

- Post-secondary education in Construction Engineering and/or Civil Engineering Technology
- Secondary School Diploma will also be considered based on previous work experience, trade or training
- Previous experience in materials testing, particularly in soil laboratory testing (Proctor, Atterberg, Hydrometer, Sieve and more) is required
- CCIL Certification for soils, concrete and asphalt would be an asset
- Excellent client relations and communication skills and a motivated team player
- Excellent written communication skills to prepare accurate records and notes and report on test results
- A strong commitment to safety and sustainability
- Passion for excellence and attention to detail
- Demonstrated willingness to learn
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products specifically Word and Excel
**Education and Experience**
- Hold a diploma or degree from a recognized college
- Prior experience in a soils laboratory is required
- Current registration with ASET or APEGA and hold designation as a T.T, C.Tech., C.E.T., P.Tech.(Eng.), EIT or P.Eng.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
SAFETY
- Actively participate in corporate HSE Program
- Actively participate in client HSE Programs ensuring requirements are understood and met
- Leading by example, ensuring all corporate safety program elements are implemented
- Support and participate in Safety Committee activities
- Conduct project/field safety audits when required
WORK
- Carrying out laboratory tests within our soils and concrete laboratory
- Perform field tests on soils and aggregates to determine their density and compaction characteristics
- Perform on-site concrete field testing
- Collect and record data from tests and maintain accurate records of test results
- Communicate test results to project managers and construction personnel, and work with them to ensure that materials are properly compacted
- Conduct tests in accordance with industry standards and regulations and maintain a thorough understanding of current testing methods and procedures
- Safely perform laboratory testing; clean, maintain and calibrate testing equipment
- Identify and report any issues or concerns related to the quality of materials or the testing process
- Participate in safety training and follow all safety protocols and procedures
