**What you’ll do**
- As part of the Communications & Content Services team, reporting to the Senior Director, Communications & Content Services, you will manage a number of enterprise-wide communications channels, such as communications newsletters, bulletins and intranet content for staff and leaders, internal events, as well as projects to support the CEO’s office.
- You will also support strategic communications planning, execution and evaluation for your assigned portfolio which includes PHSA central support departments, such as People & Culture and the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion team, Finance, the Transformation Leadership Office, and Legal, Privacy & Risk.
- Working collaboratively with fellow communications teammates and across other client portfolios, you will proactively seek opportunities to advance our organization’s purpose, vision values and the Coast Salish Teachings gifted to our organization - helping to build a positive workplace marked by proactively sharing information, fostering innovation, and nimbly responding to changing priorities with grace and good humour.
- Supervising a small team, you will coach and lead team members and support them in providing timely advice and strategic counsel to their clients while driving to quality outcomes and increased engagement in relation to the organization’s strategic priorities.
- You will also occasionally participate in a scheduled roster to help cover PHSA’s after hours communications needs.

**What you bring**

**Qualifications**:

- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a university degree in communications, journalism or a related field
- 7+ years of internal communications experience in a large, multi-site unionized environment. Previous experience with a public sector organization is an asset.
- Education or experience related to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Indigenous-specific anti-racism, is a strong asset.

Skills & Knowledge
- Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls calls for justice, and how they intersect across the health care system.
- Supports team members on their learning journey, ensuring education strategy for team/department to implement Indigenous Cultural Safety at a practical level.
- Works collaboratively with appropriate Indigenous teams/departments to ensure ICS lens applied holistically.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- Demonstrated ability to create and execute strategic communication plans, and to respond to the needs of leaders, team members and partners in sensitive situations supported by acute awareness of the impact of actions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of legislative policy development and processes of various levels of government, ability to meet tight deadlines, work under pressure, and handle highly confidential and sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and support team members with respect, compassion, and humility.
