PetYellow is looking to hire a part-time veterinary technician to fill the role of Veterinary Claim Specialist on our team

Your primary purpose as a Veterinary Claim Specialist is to utilize your passion for animals with a “can do” attitude to ensure a smooth claim experience for our customers, their pets, and vets.

You will work approximately 20 hours per week within the timeframe of 8am to 8pm EST, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility in scheduling to work around other obligations. We offer a hybrid work model as well as a continuing education allowance toward a claims adjuster license. This role offers career advancement opportunities and potential full-time employment as the business scales.

**Role Title**:Veterinary Claim Specialist

**Worksite Location**:Yonge/Sheppard, Toronto (hybrid work model)

**Role Purpose**: Use your clinical knowledge and expertise to help process pet insurance claims to ensure that claims are handled in the most effective, efficient way while delivering a customer-centric claims experience. With an agile, versatile, and passionate approach to customer satisfaction, be committed to putting customers first and focus on creating a positive experience in every interaction.

**Must Have**:

- Prior work experience as a veterinary technician or equivalent for a minimum of 2 years
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
- Team player and adaptable to a changing environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Intermediate computer skills - including previous experience using multiple systems

**Desirable Skills/Experience**:

- Prior experience in a customer service role
- Desire for professional development in the insurance field, including pursuing a claims adjuster designation

**Key Job Duties**:

- Review and process claims in accordance with Company procedures
- Make outbound follow-up calls for supporting veterinary documentation as required
- Ensure claim details are recorded accurately
- Liaise with Claim Adjusters to ensure a smooth completion of the claim within agreed turnaround time
- Complete interdepartmental claim enquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Deliver quality customer service in accordance to agreed quality standards
- Participate in claims related complaints in accordance with service level agreements
- Achieve expected KPI’s and targets
- Adhere to all company policies

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: $23.00-$26.00 per hour
