**Course Title and Code**: MSE301H1 S: Mineral Processing

**Course Description**: The theory and practice of mineral beneficiation including particle size measurement, comminution, sizing, liquid-solid separation and ore concentration by gravity, magnetic methods and flotation. The course also includes the relevant aspects of mineralogy, surface chemistry and the movement of solid particles in liquid media.

**Estimated TA support**: Tutorial 80 hours

**Sessional date of appointment**:Fall-Winter Session, January to April 2023

**Salary**: Minimum level of pay is $9,457.89 (Sessional Lecturer I) and $10,121.76 (Sessional Lecturer II), and may increase depending on applicant’s level of experience and suitability for the position.

**Qualifications**: A Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, or a closely related field is essential. Experience lecturing and/or coordinating laboratories at the university level are preferred.

**Brief description of duties**:
The Department of Materials Science and Engineering requires a lecturer to teach MSE 301H1 S- Mineral Processing during the Winter 2023-2024 semester. The successful applicant will be responsible for effectively delivering the course with all of the attendant organizational issues of lecture preparation and delivery, setting, supervision and marking of exams, final course marks, course evaluations, and so forth.
