The York Region District School Board (YRDSB) supports a flexible working culture and currently provides the opportunity for employees to work from home in addition to working in the office for some positions. The YRDSB implemented Working From Home Guidelines to facilitate this work option.

In compliance with Board policies and procedures, responsible for supporting the Board’s public and school websites by: liaising with content contributors and content owners within all areas of the Board; providing expert consultation on requirements (visual identity, language, location of posting, etc); managing centralized and corporate content to support website development in compliance with Board policies and procedures

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**:
To provide training, support and assistance to content contributors.

To research, write, edit and create content for websites and other electronic formats.

To review content and metadata and provide guidance and recommendations to contributors.

To influence compliance with Board policies, corporate identity initiatives and ensure alignment of content with the Board’s Communication Strategy.

To promote Board websites, intranet and other electronic formats as vehicles of communication.

To coordinate corporate and centralized content for Board and school websites.

To design and optimize graphical elements such as buttons and icons for websites.

To assist in the implementation of publishing standards, procedures and practices for the Board’s websites.

To research industry trends and developments in order to anticipate client needs and make recommendations

To execute reports and provide analytics on the effectiveness of the public website and school websites.

To participate in committees and project teams related to websites as required.

To perform other duties as assigned

**LINE OF RESPONSIBILITY**:
Responsible to Senior Manager, Corporate Communications.

**EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**:
A two-year college diploma in office/business administration or a related discipline, or equivalent, as approved by the Board, is required.

A three-year University Degree or College Diploma in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Web Design and Interactive Media or related discipline, or equivalent, as approved by the Board, is required.

Minimum 5 years’ experience with content management, Microsoft Sharepoint and/or website technologies, search engine optimization and writing for the web is required.

Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, presentation, facilitation and training skills are required.

Understanding of usability, user experience, and Accessibility Ontarians Disability Act (AODA) requirements for websites.

Ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals and groups both within and outside the Board is required.
