**What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this role you will:

- Provide strategic expertise, leadership and coordination of health strategies and program initiatives.
- Lead inter-ministerial and inter-governmental initiatives to improve Indigenous health services.
- Provide project leadership and/or participate in the conceptualization, development and evaluation of strategic Indigenous health policies, program design, regulations and/or legislation addressing a range of Indigenous issues within Ontario's health system.
- Coordinate and participate on projects and work teams comprised of branch and ministry partners, internal and external stakeholders, service providers and broader community partners.

**How do I qualify?**:
**Technical Knowledge**:

- You have proven knowledge of the Indigenous health sector, including Indigenous health issues and knowledge of Indigenous communities and organizations in Ontario.
- You have knowledge of performance management approaches to provide leadership and expertise in the development, evaluation and communication of strategic policies, programs, regulations and/or legislation.
- You have strong strategic and operational leadership for planning, development and delivery of the ministry's Indigenous Health program.

**Program and Policy Knowledge and Skills**:

- You have demonstrated an understanding of public policy and program development, health care system planning and delivery principles, methods and practices and evaluation principles.
- You have knowledge of program design, implementation and delivery.
- You have an understanding of government programs and services related to Indigenous health.
- You have strong strategic orientation and demonstrated knowledge of and experience with policy development processes to lead the development and evaluation of strategies, legislative and resource allocation frameworks.

**Communication and Interpersonal Skills**:

- You have demonstrated writing and analysis skills to prepare reports, papers and briefing notes for senior management.
- You have presentation skills to synthesize, analyze and relay complex information to senior leadership including briefings, operational plans, issues/information requests, strategies and program recommendations.
- You have demonstrated facilitation skills working with Indigenous partners and federal government.
- You have negotiation and mediation skills to resolve issues and achieve consensus.
- You have interpersonal and people skills to deliver effective presentations, productive discussions and collaborative relationship-building to help achieve shared objectives.
- You have demonstrated ability to take initiative/accountability for achievement of approved deliverables and operational commitments.
- You have creativity and conceptual-thinking skills to explain situations and recommend solutions to problems.

**Project Management and Analytical Skills**:

- You have demonstrated project management skills and expertise to lead the implementation of high profile Indigenous projects/programs and deliver approved commitments in a timely manner.
- You have demonstrated analytical skills to assess and address Indigenous program and operational policy issues.
- You have time management skills to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
- You are highly organized and able to manage multiple competing priorities with a high degree of independence.
