**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, the Safety Advisor will contribute to planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of health, safety and environmental programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees and other personnel on job sites.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Carry out job site inspections to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and internal safety programs and protocols
- Report any concerns to site management and the Health & Safety Manager.
- Intervene if conditions or the way work is being done is unsafe.
- Contribute to the determination and implementation of corrective action.
- Assist with emergency preparedness and with emergency response.
- Assist with incident/accident/ near-miss reporting and investigations.
- Assist with developing job hazard analysis and project safety plans.
- Facilitate training sessions for employees.
- Maintain and organize Health and Safety documentation in accordance with the applicable legislation, Company policies and procedures.
- Assist with H&S accreditation and performance audits (i.e. COR).
- Assist with management of Modified Duty and Return-To-Work programs.
- Monitor sub-contractor safety performance and compliance.
- Complete additional assignments and responsibilities as requested by Health and Safety Manager or Senior Management.

**Requirements**:

- Working towards or have completed NCSO Designation.
- 2-4 years' experience in a similar role within the Utilities or Heavy Civil Construction field.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Passion for fostering a safe work environment.
- Ability to get along well with and influence a variety of personalities and individuals.
- Strong PC skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Able to work under pressure with time constraints.
- Valid Driver's License is required.
