Good Samaritan is looking for a person with the right mix of copywriting and financial reporting skills. You will work with an amazing team of dynamic communications and fundraising professionals who will support and empower you to feel part of something bigger and make a difference in the lives of people in Good Samaritan’s care homes and programs.

- $51,450 - $71, 472We build funder and donor support for Good Samaritan through various activities, including federal and provincial government grants, public and private foundations and corporations, and traditional fundraising events and activities.

You will work with our donor and financial information systems to track grants and donations and prepare reports to meet our financial reporting requirements.

This role is located in Edmonton and a hybrid work environment.

**Accountabilities**
- You will train and use our donor information system (Raiser’s Edge NXT) and Good Samaritan’s financial systems.
- Write correspondence for donor communication, including letters of introduction, proposals, and donor stewardship communications.
- Assist the Director of Communications and Fund Development in collecting and analyzing internal and external information about fundraising activities.
- Proactively identify grant and funding prospects.
- Develop, maintain, and expand the current grant and donor database, enabling tracking trends to distinguish giving opportunities, cultivation, and development.
- Successfully steward existing donors and funders, including foundations (public and private), corporations, and individuals, to meet a fundraising target annually.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of charity law affecting fundraising activities and events, federally and provincially.
- Facilitate a collaborative team approach to support fundraising with Good Samaritan staff throughout the organization.
- Provide regular progress reports to the Director.
- Adheres to all infection control practices and procedures.
- Other related duties as assigned.

- Maintain confidentiality on resident, client, individual, and employee matters and information issues.
- Pursue continual learning by participating in in-services and training/education programs.
- Maintain a safe working culture by assessing and controlling possible health and safety risks.
- Adhere to all Good Samaritan policies and procedures.

**Educational and other Qualifications**
- Minimum two years of post-secondary education in Non-Profit Management, Fundraising or Communications, or other relevant education supplemented by fund development and financial training.

**Work Experience**
- One to two years related experience in Fund Development or Communications
- Experience in working in a not-for-profit or customer service setting is considered an asset
- Demonstrates a high degree of proficiency in working with sensitive and confidential information with knowledge of provincial legislation
- Able to function with a high degree of independence

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Exemplary written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work with internal and external donors diplomatically and professionally; a skilled relationship builder
- Experience with a wide range of fundraising activities and proven success in substantial income generation
- Experience with social media digital marketing is an asset
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Raiser’s Edge NXT
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills
- Planning and organization skills with the ability to translate plans into actions
