Program Facilitator- Anti Racism Program

**Organization Overview**:
The Multicultural Helping House Society (MHHS) is a registered non-profit and charitable organization that empowers newcomers to succeed in Canada. This position will manage and deliver programs under the United Way Anti-Racism initiative. The position is a hybrid position, providing in-person, telephone and virtual service delivery to clients.
**Job Summary**:
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for referrals from the Racism Incident Helpline, ensuring timely support through peer and group programs.
- Manage incoming referrals from BC’s Racist Incident Helpline and ensure the delivery of trauma informed and culturally appropriate programming.
- Coordinate weekly group support sessions for victims of racism, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment, both in-person and virtually.
- Recruit and train volunteers, including past victims of racism, to become peer supporters. Facilitate ongoing training sessions to ensure volunteers are equipped with active listening and communication skills and trauma informed practices.
- Organize and conduct weekly resilience-building workshops that focus on stress management, mindfulness, self-care, and art therapy, enabling participants to express their experiences and develop healthy coping strategies.
- Plan and execute a large community awareness event, showcasing art created by workshop participants, featuring guest speakers impacted by racism to raise public awareness about its effects on mental health.
- Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly reports, attend meetings.
- Maintain and foster relationships with community organizations, mental health professionals, and other stakeholders to enhance program delivery.
- Ensure the contracted deliverables are met using project management best practices.
- Other duties as required.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in social or human sciences, Social Work, Mental Health, Community Development, or a related field.
- Experience with Project Management principles and program planning, including design and implementation.
- Experience working in anti-racism or mental health support programs.
- Experience with community development and working with vulnerable groups.
- Fluency in another language is a must.
- Experience with trauma
- informed practice methodologies.
- Strong understanding of mental health support and resilience-building practices.
- Experience managing volunteer programs, including recruitment and training.
- Proven ability to organize and facilitate workshops and community events.
- Experience with collecting appropriate information for progress reports to funders.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse populations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
**Skills and Abilities**:
- Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Ability to speak both English and another language is required
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and online communication platforms, able to maintain an accurate database
- Experience delivering hybrid (in-person and virtual) programs and services.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
**Other Requirements**:
Clear criminal record check (vulnerable sector).
**Wage and Benefits**:
There are 2 positions for this role: 1 full time position (35 hours per week), and one part-time position (15 hours, 3 days per week), with CPP, EI, WCB, 6% vacation pay. The rate per hour is $27 per hour.
