**Position Title**:Active Witnessing Facilitator

**Reports to**:Community Connections Lead

**Summary**

The Active Witnessing Facilitator is primarily responsible for developing and delivering information, support and tools for im/migrants on how to prepare for and respond to racism in the community. Responsibilities include performing tasks based on program/activity needs such as workshop content creation, facilitation and presentations, data collection and analysis, event planning, and developing resources that explore topics related to active witnessing and anti-racism for both youth and adults.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Develops and provides information and tools to im/migrants on how to prepare for and respond to racism in the community
- Supports im/migrants to build confidence and competence to safely interrupt and intervene in racism incidents, including understanding how racist incidences can be reported
- Establishes supportive, inclusive and culturally appropriate, accessible spaces for clients and community members to learn about
- Works collaboratively with the Community Connections Coordinator to design, coordinate and co-facilitate anti-racism workshops for clients and community members (virtual and in-person)
- Works collaboratively with the Community Connections Coordinator to develop and distribute anti-racism education materials and resources including but not limited to fact sheets, posters, pamphlets and social media content etc
- Collaborates with Impact North Shore team members to address racism in the community to positively impact safety and belonging, and create inclusive spaces across the North Shore, including public and partner presentations
- Ensures trauma support and education on how to address/respond to racist incidents is available and updated for community & client-focused activities
- Collaborates with staff teams across internal areas of work to ensure activities are responsive to im/migrant needs
- Supports learning and action through an anti-oppression, intersectional lens
- Remains current with ethical requirements and research relevant to responding to concerns around racism
- Responsible for tracking activity deliverable progress and gathering participant feedback using evaluation and monitoring tools
- Supports the creation of best practice documents and internal resources to support responses to concerns or issues of racism
- Actively participates in internal EDI initiatives, North Shore Anti-Racism Network meetings, reconciliation activities, and team and All-Staff meetings
- Researches and remains up to date on equity, diversity, inclusion industry news and trends, particularly as it relates to im/migrant inclusion, active witnesses and anti-racism
- Other related duties as required

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Experience in workshop facilitation, including both adult and youth facilitation
- Experience working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Experience
- Strong communicating, writing, editing, presenting and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proven record of achieving and measuring results
- Strong analytical and solution-finding skills that include the ability to develop and propose creative solutions and approaches
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, step outside of your comfort zone and embrace learning through action
- Ability to identify barriers to access and inclusion for a diverse population and have an understanding of internal, interpersonal and systemic racism
