**Position Summary**

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provides business analysis for new problems or changing processes (may be introduced by legislative or policy changes)
- Works closely with stakeholder groups (faculty, staff, students) to understand and interpret diverse requirements for new developments and/or improvements to existing processes; stakeholder needs are often conflicting requiring careful facilitation and persuasion
- Undertakes investigation of new tools and functionality to support the office of the Registrar and Strategic Enrolment activities across the campus; engaged with implementation of these tools (e.g. setup/configuration, development, testing, and training)
- Functional project leadership role in systems development, working in partnership with IT and other departments on development projects
- Responsible for configuring and running complex processes that frequently require manual adjustments, including the setup, maintenance, and optimization of large processes (e.g., Academic Progression, Registration Configuration, etc.)
- Accountable for system configuration maintenance and functional setup
- Identifies errors, trouble-shoots, and problem-solves related to processes and functionality within the system
- Identify and recommend new initiatives and improved practices related to improving the systems, processes, and the overall environment, helping ensure that staff have appropriate technologies to support their activities
- Author, revise and maintain systems documentation including: requirements documentation, development specifications, workflow diagrams, screenshots, wireframes, timing and diagrams, case studies, test cases, and end-user stories
- Provide technical mentoring, coaching, and training to staff on production processes, methods and standards
- Responsible for training staff on new business processes and monitoring accuracy of system coding and business processes of existing practices
- Initiate communications and liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Performs other administrative duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- Completion of a minimum of a 3-year diploma or degree in Computer Science, Computing and Information Systems, Business or other related fields
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Business Analysis, including requirements planning, elicitation, communication, validation and implementation in the areas of Admissions, Registration, Records, Scheduling and Financial Aid or other post-secondary business units
- Exceptional computer literacy including advanced Excel and word processing skills
- Extensive knowledge of web based client information systems and functions (Banner, PeopleSoft, etc.)
- Exceptional and proven analytical skills
- Working knowledge of database query language (SQL) and report creation
- Previous experience in project management preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills to manage a large volume of information, meet deadlines and work well under pressure at a variety of tasks
- Ability to work co-operatively, to accomplish joint tasks and build positive working relationships
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to use good judgement for making decisions within scope and working within a collaborative environment
