Noojmawing Sookatagaing Ontario Health Team (OHT)

**Position Summary**:
The Noojmawing Sookatagaing Ontario Health Team (OHT) is seeking a Research Associate to lead an applied research program focusing on primary health care within the OHT, and Northwestern Ontario. The successful Research Associate will work closely with the OHT team, supporting priority work of the OHT. The position will be connected with the Regional Specialized Services Network, RISE and Dr. Brianne Wood at NOSM University, Dr. Gilles Arcand Centre for Health Equity and Thunder Bay Regional Health Research Institute to support this embedded research program, build research capacity, and enhance relationships with diverse stakeholders across Northern Ontario.
Education
- A Master’s degree in health sciences, health administration, or relevant discipline from a recognized university with Canadian accreditation or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- PhD in a relevant field is considered an asset

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
- Experience in project coordination, data management (e.g., storing, collection, analyzing), report writing
- Experience working in an education or healthcare/clinical setting is preferred
- Experience with research budgeting and workplans
- Experience with data analysis and quality improvement cycles
- Experience working with Indigenous and Francophone communities and organizations
- Demonstrated success in maintaining strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders
- Demonstrated success in working with dynamic teams
- Curiosity and ability to collaborate in a complex and evolving environment
- Must be able to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills to diverse audiences
- Good knowledge of Northern Ontario primary health care, workforce planning or capacity assessment, and health equity considered an asset
- Advanced computer skills including proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to travel across Northern Ontario. A valid driver’s license is required.

**Other Requirements**:

- Preference will be granted to someone who lives in the Noojmawing Sookatagaing OHT region.
- Position is work from home with occasional travel.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel in own car within the region.
- Flexibility to adapt work hours according to project needs.
- Canadian criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.
