Position: Senior Manager, Food & Beverage

JOB OVERVIEW: To assist in the overall efficient operation of the Sales & Events Team. Responsible for the efficient and professional coordination of any assigned corporate or social events.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Create and execute banquet event orders to include detailed information as it relates to the agenda, menu items, floor plan, billing and any additional key criteria needed for the successful execution of the event.
- Coordinate and plan group's food and beverage, including assistance with menu and wine selection; facilitate introductions related to AV, decor, entertainment, preferred vendors or third party services.
- Communicate with sales, front office and reservations in order to coordinate and monitor guest room blocks and special reservation needs.
- Establish rapport with and entertain meeting planners during the detailing process.
- Conduct site inspections throughout property.
- Assist sales team in promoting hotel, developing leads and securing repeat business.
- Review all invoices in a timely matter and ensure accuracy; compile any cancellation/attrition charges for the group. Update accordingly in CRM.
- Follow up with planner/client following the event to thank and request feedback; communicate to respective hotel departments.
- Plan and conduct pre
- and post-convention meetings with clients and respective departments, as needed.
- Communicate effectively and concisely with clients and with internal departments.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

- Organized, able to multi-task and perform in a high paced environment, with competing priorities.
- Ideally has a minimum of 2 years working within a hotel sales & catering team
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Tripleseat and Allseated an asset
- Team spirit, can-do attitude
- Creative and solutions oriented
- Works effectively with internal and external guests.
- Presents a professional appearance and manner
- Strong oral and written communications, with attention to detail.
