Lumenus Community Services is currently seeking a full-time, skilled and experienced **Psychotherapist, Service Coordinator for 2SLGBTQ+ youth focused support** at our Youth Wellness Hub Ontario (YWHO)
- Central and Studio Drop-In program located in Central Toronto Location.

The main purpose of this position is to provide therapeutic supports to 2SLGBTQ+ youth in the community. This position addresses a range of mental health issues, including emotional, behavioral and/or psychiatric symptoms that may be impacting one’s functioning at home, school, socially or in the community, as well as situational challenges including family conflict, bullying, trauma, substance use, struggles with psychiatric diagnoses, etc. Intervention strategies are determined following a thorough intake and assessment. This position provides ongoing counselling in the community as well as counselling in our walk-in programs. This position works exclusively with 2SLGBTQ+ youth and their families with direct referrals from the 2SLGBTQ+ Provincial Youth Outreach Worker (YOW), staff at The Studio, Youth Wellness Hub Ontario (YWHO) and from the community. This position will also act as a bridge to Lumenus services including but not limited to the Youth Wellness Hub, the Studio and counselling services and the provincial 2SLGBTQ+ YOW.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Work within a multidisciplinary framework and treatment team approach to provide developmentally appropriate treatment services to children, youth and young adults from 14 to 25yrs old.
- Provide direct clinical service to clients while ensuring all services are based on holistic practice and an integration of family focus, wellness, attachment theory and trauma-informed principles.
- Provide psychoeducation as needed related to the unique needs of the 2SLGBTQIA+ population and therapeutic techniques as needed.
- Develop and facilitate group sessions tailored to the 2SLGBTQIA+ population.
- Establish therapeutic and trusting relationships with clients, as well as collaborative relationships with service providers.
- Provide immediate support to clients in crisis including risk mitigation, safety planning and connections to crisis services. Document and review any risk factors that may be impacting the client.
- Refer clients for other assessments and connect to additional services as required.
- Participate in the development and implementation of assessments, goals and treatment plans for assigned clients and liaise with families, in coordination with the Service Team, as required.
- Participate in treatment planning, Service Reviews / Plans of Care, program planning and evaluation meetings and ensure communication of all pertinent client and program related information and events to the Service Team.

**QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE**:

- Master’s level education in a relevant clinical field.
- Registered member in good standing with a regulatory body (e.g. OCSWSSW, CRPO Qualifying).
- Lived experience or exceptional knowledge/familiarity of 2SLGBTQIA+ a very strong asset.
- Understanding of gender-affirming health care with trans and non-binary folks
- Experience working with youth struggling with depression, anxiety, strained social relationships eating disorders, self-injurious behavior, trauma, psychiatric diagnoses, difficult family dynamics, learning disabilities etc.
- 2 years of related professional experience or, a combination of education and experience that will meet the needs of the position.
- Experience with/lived experience of oppression, racism, homophobia, transphobia and/or ableism and/or personal connection to queer or trans communities of color, including newcomer and disability communities.
- Experience working with youth who have intersecting identities and identify on the gender diversity and/or sexual diversity spectrum.
- Certification in First Aid and Crisis Prevention & Intervention (CPI).

**SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES**:

- Extensive knowledge of and ability to collaborate and liaison with 2SLBGTQ organizations.
- Proven knowledge and understanding of outreach strategies.
- Proven group facilitation skills, preferably utilizing Evidence Based Practices
- Proven assessment and advocacy skills
- Suicide risk assessment and intervention skills
- Ability to develop collaborative working relationships with other staff ability to connect and build rapport with adolescents
- Ability to work with and integrate knowledge from other professional staff, i.e. psychologists, psychiatrists, into the overall treatment plan
- Ability to formulate psychosocial assessments; knowledge of diagnostic and treatment procedures utilized by related disciplines
