**Job description**

**The Opportunity**:
The **Bookkeeper **position is responsible for planning, organizing, administering, and controlling the operations of the full-cycle accounting function. This role provides an opportunity to grow into the Controller role and to build a team around you as the accounting department continues to be staffed.

In addition to providing strong leadership to the sales and operations teams, the Bookkeeper is responsible for financial and management reporting, financial controls, audits, accounts payable, invoicing, collections and monthly close procedures. Your ability to foster teamwork and get results is critical as well as your attention to detail, organization, flexibility, and adaptability to change will ensure your success at our company.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure proper record keeping for all financial transactions
- Work closely with the operations team to oversee supplier and customer payments (full AR, AP cash cycle)
- Perform bank reconciliations and book journal entries to close the month-end in QuickBooks accounting software
- File quarterly GST-QST payments with Revenue Quebec
- Work closely with and support auditors to prepare year-end financial statements
- Calculation of sales commissions for payroll processing
- Introduce internal controls to safeguard all assets of the company
- Liaise with our financing partners to develop interim reports as required
- Other tasks as defined by the Chief Financial Officer

**What we’re looking for**:
**Minimum Requirements**:

- University degree (Finance, Accounting or Business preferred)
- Written and verbal fluency in French/English
- Well-organized self-starters with excellent interpersonal skills who enjoy a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and multi-tasking capabilities
- Dynamic individuals with a great attitude and desire to work hard while having fun

**Experience Preferred**:

- 3-5 years work experience in accounting area of a business
- Transportation industry experience
- Experience using transportation management software and QuickBooks accounting

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
