**Description**

This is a recurring part-time position for a term of 5 months, reporting to the principal investigator (PI) Dr. Aniela dela Cruz, Associate Professor, Faculty of Nursing at the University of Calgary.

The nature of work varies with job stressors being moderate and including deadlines and attention to detail. The Research Associate will be required to work between Monday and Friday 25-30 hours per week. The work environment requires time spent at a computer, on the telephone, attendance at project team meetings and other project related activities. The nature of the work involves a variety of duties and tasks performed and have few physical demands.

The position requires judgment and decision-making. Decisions will be guided by study protocols and guidelines. The incumbent will collect research data, prepare research data for analysis, and/or write reports for dissemination. This position also requires independently knowing where to look for information, and contributing to discussions about solutions to complex problems in a team setting. The work requires a high degree of accuracy, and the ability to re-prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines. The incumbent must also be able to work with diverse teams of researchers and community collaborators with varying levels of experience to ensure equitable involvement and learning throughout the research processes.

**Summary of Key Responsibilities** (job functions include but are not limited to):

- Assist with the following research tasks and research related activities:

- Research data collection; preparing research data for analysis (e.g., generating survey reports, transcribing data using software, and anonymizing data); data analysis; and report writing
- Assist with project communications with research team members

Maintain professionalism as a research team member

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- Graduate degree preferably in health care or health sciences and a minimum 2-3 years of experience in a research environment
- Experience with research processes from data collection to reporting and knowledge dissemination
- Experience in working directly with people in the health and social care setting
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Minimum of 2 years' experience with research projects methodologies, processes, standards and policies
- Knowledge of research project life cycle including ethics approval processes
- Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, time manage and re-prioritize tasks
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Analytical reasoning skills and decision making skills
- Ability to complete assigned and scheduled tasks under own initiative with mínimal supervision
- Web-based survey software knowledge would be an asset
- Proficient report and manuscript writing skills would be an asset Ability to adapt and be flexible in a changing environment
